Individual and Group Supervision of an analytical process requires having a deep respect for the unique relationship between the analyst and his/her analysand. The analysand himself is not with us in the supervision session, and therefore, supervision is about the relationship between the analyst and his/her analysand, about his/her concerns and doubts, his/her thoughts, feelings, intuitions, and sensations about the process. The relationship between the supervisee and the supervisor, the images, dreams, and symbols that emerge in the analyst’s countertransference should also be explored.
